Details

Bright Lights For Africa Foundation (BLFA) is committed to celebrating and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Black Francophone communities in Calgary. The project aims to plan and organize a series of events that highlight the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Francophone women. These events will serve as a platform for cultural expression, community engagement, and solidarity. The project will involve researching cultural themes, identifying potential venues, coordinating with local artists and speakers, and developing a comprehensive event plan. The goal is to create memorable and impactful gatherings that foster a sense of belonging and pride within the community. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of event planning, cultural studies, and community engagement in a real-world setting.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a detailed event plan outlining the schedule, venue, and program for each event. Additionally, learners will create promotional materials, such as flyers and social media content, to generate interest and attendance. A post-event report summarizing the outcomes, feedback, and recommendations for future events will also be required. These deliverables will demonstrate the learners' ability to effectively plan and execute community-focused events.
