The University of Toronto students investigated whether (and how) machine learning techniques could be used to extract meaningful climate change actions from existing content. While the project work was intended to be an exploration/feasibility study, the results are extremely promising. During their research they explored many potential NLP, NLU, and other techniques and libraries. The high quality of their project deliverable testifies to the success of their research, teamwork, and problem solving approach. Importantly for such a complicated domain, they were able to articulate the complex math and ML techniques and approaches in a relatively non-technical way. This allowed me to gain an understanding of what they were doing, and why. They asked for feedback to adjust and improve their algorithm and align it with project goals and objectives. They proposed some very practical approaches to identifying and extracting imperative actions. They also indicated many areas for future improvement or investigation. Overall the students' result was of great insight and met my expectations. I recommend them and their work.

Simply love the output. The empathy and curiosity that Karen, Tarek, Zaid, and Sarika provided to the business idea are unparalleled. I loved how they tied the market research to a business value proposition. I really appreciate how they accommodate me throughout the process and gave life to the idea.

The team delivered a good assessment by reviewing publicly available resources, comprised of four milestones (i.e., Definition, Industry analysis, Current assessment, and Recommendations). During the engagement, the team met with our internal team periodically, discussed their approach, explained their findings, seek alignment, and included feedback to improve their learning objective. We had the pleasure of working with Dr. Naomi Levy-Strumpf and her students from HMB301H1 at the University of Toronto. The students provided us with valuable work for ongoing projects while being professional, communicative, and eager to learn! Naomi helped us create a project outline for remote work and stayed in touch throughout the term making it an easy process. We hope to work together in the future!

The collaboration between The CSG-Group and UToronto was key for one of the main projects we have been working on. The UToronto team, composed of professor Tingting Zhu and the students Hefan, Peter, and Lewei demonstrated enthusiasm to work with the CSG-Group on the PanaSea aquaculture project. The professor chose an exceptional team of students from her class to create and deliver a robust informational project on an aspect of PanaSea's environmental impact on the marine ecosystem Caribbean Sea area of his fishery, using GIS methodology taught in the course. At the end they prepared a comprehensive report that will be used as the basis for the startup’s environmental impact report. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with UToronto for future projects.
