I am 26, and a Bachelor of Education student at TRU studying STEM for Secondary school settings, finishing my degree on June 25th. I have a previous BSc. in Marine Biology from the University of Victoria that I completed in 2021.
I have worked in community centers as a Team Lead in Aquatics and Fitness for over a decade and enjoy the aspect of community engagement, betterment and care in my work. I have also had the opportunity to pursue professional development through two different Riipen projects surrounding Indigenous community values and educational content development. I currently work part-time for the Department of Education at TRU through the Work Study program while continuing my current degree in Kamloops.
My personal interests include equitable and accessible education, as well as the inclusion and understanding of the unique demographics that make up our communities. My main goal in my future career is to be able to make educated and informed decisions that allow me to give back to my community and the students who will lead the next generation.
I also enjoy being outdoors, creative outlets such as cross stitch and painting, formatting excel spreadsheets, and above all teaching in any form! - Portals
